The National Health Council (NHC) has recently certified PAN as meeting all of the requirements for the NHC Standards of Excellence Certification Program. NHC, an association of health and patient advocacy organizations, has adopted a set of best practices to ensure that its members maintain the highest levels of transparency, accountability, organizational effectiveness, and public stewardship.
To qualify for the Standards of Excellence certification, an organization must adhere to 43 individual standards organized under the subcategories of governance, human resources, programs, fundraising, finance, accounting and reporting, and evaluation. These standards are even more extensive than those adopted and widely recognized for charitable accountability by the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance.
PAN is a proud member of the NHC and honored to receive this certification, which is active through 2016, as a testament to our work and commitment to the highest ethical and operational standards for patient advocacy organizations.
